Warm Weather Barbecue Recipes
It’s that time of year, when everyone loves to eat outside. To help make your next barbecue a culinary delight, we’ve put together a few great recipes for sharing with family and friends. Bon Appetit!
Perfect Pasta Salad
8 cups cooked and cooled pasta
2 medium tomatoes, cut into wedges
1 can black olives, drained
1 medium jar green olives, drained
1 jar marinated artichoke hearts, drained
1 large bell pepper, chopped
1 cucumber, peeled and sliced
1 cup chopped broccoli
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped pepperoni
1 medium bottle Italian salad dressing
Mix all ingredients together. Some tips: when cooking your pasta, be sure not to overcook. It should be cooked just until it is tender, then drained immediately, and cooled under cold running water. You can also add any other ingredients to your salad that strike your fancy. Other vegetables, meats, or cheeses can pep up your salad.
Dressed Up Baked Beans
Empty canned baked beans into a casserole dish. According to your taste, add some or all of the following: a squirt of yellow mustard, some extra barbecue sauce, crushed garlic, chopped onions, chili powder, black pepper, chopped green chilies, brown sugar, and molasses. Top with strips of uncooked bacon. Place in a 300 degree oven for 45 minutes to an hour. Move the dish to the top shelf of your oven and turn on the broiler element in your oven. Let cook until the bacon is browned and slightly crisp.
If you are lucky enough to have a still warm barbecue filled with charcoal after everyone is done eating, it is the perfect time for sores. Toast a large marshmallow and place it between two graham crackers, along with some chocolate chips or a piece of a chocolate bar. Let sit for a moment and then enjoy!
