4 Fall Activities to Do Near Your New Apartment in Lenexa, Kansas

  |     |   Luxury Apartments

Socialize and Get Some Fresh Air After You Move into Our Pet-Friendly Apartment Community

You spent quite a bit of time searching for the perfect apartment for rent, and you finally found one, right here at the WaterSide Residences on Quivira. After a successful move-in, you’re craving some autumnal experiences. And with so many options near Lenexa, it can be hard to choose what to do.

We’ve taken the liberty of helping you come up with some fun activities we think you’ll enjoy this fall. Hop into your car and head to these nearby destinations for a day out of your new apartment in Lenexa.

Take a Short Drive to the Louisburg Cider Mill

Get the ultimate fall experience at Louisburg Cider Mill in Louisburg, Kansas. While you’re there, you can enjoy the family farm, where you can pick pumpkins, taste cider, eat delicious treats, and dine on food from weekend food trucks.

In the Louisburg Cider Mill Country Store, you can take in live music, shop for fresh-from-the-farm produce and fruit butter, drink handcrafted soda, and more. The Cider Mill has been around since the 1970s, and through the years, they’ve hosted popular events like their annual cider festival and swap meets.

Visiting the Cider Mill is wonderful for the whole family, or for young adults looking for an escape from the city and a touch of fresh air.

To visit, get on Kansas-69 South in Overland Park and follow it to Kansas-68 West in Louisburg. You’ll see Louisburg Cider Mill on the right side of the roadway.

Taste the Newest Seasonal Brew at Lost Evenings

A Lenexa-based brewery, Lost Evenings Brewing Company is a hoppin’ place to taste craft beers, including their Oktoberfest special during the fall season.

Their 2021 Oktoberfest beer, called “Polka Never Dies” is on tap, along with eight other brews, plus bottled ciders and mixed drinks featuring local ingredients.

When you visit, scan the QR code on your table to order a delicious pizza from a neighboring restaurant, play darts with a friend, and enjoy the relaxing vibe of the brewery tasting room.

Lost Evenings Brewing Company is located on Hauser Court, across from the Westchester Square strip mall, just off West 87th Street Parkway.

Root for the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead

Is it really autumn near Lenexa if you don’t go to a Chiefs football game? Snag some tickets to the game and sit in the stands as you cheer for Patrick Mahones, Travis Kelce, and the rest of the team at Arrowhead Stadium, just a short drive from our new apartments.

We can only hope that the Chiefs make it to the big game in February, and when you’re in attendance, maybe you’ll bring the luck they need to go all the way to the championships.

In Arrowhead Stadium, you can enjoy some traditional Kansas City barbecue, or try a waffle sandwich, stuffed with meats, jam, or whatever flavors sound tasty to you.

If you get there early, you could tailgate with other Chiefs fans, so bring along your grill and gourmet bratwurst to snack on before kick-off.

To get to Arrowhead Stadium from your studio apartment in Lenexa, get on US-69 South in Overland Park to I-435 East to Kansas City. Take Exit 63B onto Lancer Lane.

See Vibrant Fall Leaves All Over the City

The Lenexa area has so many places you can go to see the spectacular colors of autumn courtesy of our native trees. Take in these fall hues all over the city, while you breathe in fresh fall air and devour a gourmet picnic that you packed just for the occasion.

Our favorite places for autumn leaf-peeping include Powell Gardens, the Cliff Drive Scenic Byway in northeast Kansas City, the National World War I Museum and Memorial, Loose Park, and Vaile Victorian Mansion and Truman Home in Independence, Missouri.

Each of these locations is a short jaunt from your new apartment in Lenexa, so your homemade charcuterie board or chunky sub sandwich will still be fresh by the time you get there. Don’t forget to pack a jacket while you make a day of admiring the red and gold colors of autumn.
